What is Base Oil SN500?
Base Oil SN500 is a Group I mineral base oil produced by solvent
extraction, dewaxing, and hydrofinishing of vacuum-distilled crude oil residue.
The “SN” prefix stands for Solvent Neutral; the “500” refers to its position in the
viscosity ladder, sitting between lighter grades such as SN150 and SN350 and heavier
grades such as SN600 and SN650. Zumrut’s SN500 typically tests at 90–110 cSt kinematic
viscosity at 40°C, with a viscosity index above 87, making it a mid-range, versatile
feedstock for lubricant blenders.
Uses of Base Oil SN 500:
base oil Group I according to the American Petroleum Institute (API), which contains less than 90 percent saturates and has a viscosity index greater than or equal to 85 and less than 120.
In RAHA oil refinery diverse grades of Base Oil are produced by means of solvent refining paraffinic crude oil as below, with modern production facilities and using high-quality raw materials.
Base oils are used to manufacture products including motor oil, Industrial oil, Grease, and etc.
• Motor oil
• Industrial oil
• Lubricating greases
• Metal processing fluids
• Additives
• Hydraulic oils
• Transformer oils
• Coating
• Medicine
• Paints
Applications of Base Oil SN500
Engine Oils
Base stock for gasoline and diesel engine oil blends requiring mid-range viscosity.
Hydraulic Fluids
Moderate viscosity suits industrial hydraulic systems and circulating oils.
Gear & Transmission Oils
Provides film strength for gearboxes and manual/automatic transmission fluids.
Industrial Lubricants
Used in compressor oils, turbine oils, and general-purpose industrial blends.
Grease Manufacturing
Common carrier fluid for calcium and lithium grease formulations.
